no you have it right,
admin page > control panel > mail server > parameters
and tick 'POP before SMTP relaying' and put your relay window in (default 15
mins)
ensure that all the IP addresses of your server and all your domains are in
teh 'relay for the following hosts/domains' and you should be away - after
saving the settings
if that doesn't work then i am not sure.
