I just got the announcement that the beta version of PortSentry 2 has been released. Since I know many of you run PortSentry, I thought you might be interested. I'm going to wait a few days and then install it on a box sometime next week. If anyone installs it and runs it before then and wants to report their findings to the list, I'm sure it will be appreciated.

This version includes numerous changes, fixes, optimizations, and full stealth-support for multiple Unix platforms with libpcap support. In the upcoming weeks additional features and functionality will be added to move the program beyond the original PortSentry 1.x series even further. Core features include: - Libpcap support for cross-platform stealth scan detection and response - Ability to detect and react to portscans and reconnaissance probes in real-time - User-configurable alerting mechanisms - Very low system overhead There is a KNOWNBUGS file included with the distribution, please read this file before submitting bug reports.
