Yeah - I got that email as well.  I found it fairly strange as well and it
would be interesting if someone could shed some light on this....

I responded asking why I should give my email address to someone who
couldn't use Google and spammed me without permission.

Anyone heard of this lunatic before? Is he evil, or merely misguided?
