Boot off a Knoppix or other Live CD...? :)
I couldn't get the dirvers for the network card to install with the Live CD...But, I dd this
Booted with Live CD
changed to c:\winnt\system32\config
renamed SAM to SAME
Rebooted system
Windows sees that there is no SAM file and creates one with one user - Administrator
that has no password.
So, I logged into the local machine, and was able to run my USB applications without
writing to the hard drive and made use of their BIG pipe to the net.
Resisting all temptations, I did NOT create an administrator account for myself...and simply
restored the old one when I was finished.
I'd be happier if I could figure out how to tell the BARTPE Live CD to load in the network
card drivers so I didn't have to mess around with the SAM file.
