Hi, 2010/4/11 Jonathan Sabo <[email protected]>: > I wanted to add the ability to import VMware ESX 4 update 1 with > cobbler import.
I got this running by manually creating a pxelinux.cfg/... file based on this documentation http://vm-help.com/esx40i/PXE_install.php Mine actually looks like this: kernel ESXi4/mboot.c32 append ESXi4/vmkboot.gz --- ESXi4/vmkernel.gz --- ESXi4/sys.vgz --- ESXi4/cim.vgz --- ESXi4/ienviron.tgz --- ESXi4/image.tgz --- ESXi4/install.tgz --- ESXi4/oem.tgz This worked fine for the installations I needed to do. I never got it running from cobbler because cobbler has quite strict requirements on the OS: it needs both a kernel and an initrd And based on this you don't have an initrd at all. ... > [r...@localhost ~]# cobbler distro report --name=vmware-esx4u1-x86_64 > Name : vmware-esx4u1-x86_64 > Architecture : x86_64 > Breed : vmware > Comment : esx4.1 > Initrd : > /var/www/cobbler/ks_mirror/vmware-esx4u1/isolinux/initrd.img > Kernel : > /var/www/cobbler/ks_mirror/vmware-esx4u1/isolinux/vmlinuz Where did you get those two files from? What were they called in the original distribution? -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Niels Basjes _______________________________________________ cobbler-devel mailing list [email protected] https://fedorahosted.org/mailman/listinfo/cobbler-devel
