30-60's not horrific if you really need it done.  

Just being kernel+initrd+kernel arguments (--kopts) is fantastically 
easy to set up.

Also very nice that the embedded script is Python :)

See if you can get it going via partimage, and either way, let's set up 
a Wiki page for this showing the instructions on how to build the live 
image and use it in cobbler.   I asked earlier about hosting the image 
via torrent on Fedora infrastructure, and it's possible to get space for 
that so folks do not have to build it.
