This is actually in the cobbler tree, "contrib/devel"... that way we 
don't have to refer to mailing list archives and other folks can patch 
to it.

I still don't "support" it, still hence the "contrib", and are needing 
more testing to be sure.

Speaking on earlier comments, ftp ... probably a problem after all, nfs 
has the ability to present a filesystem, and as stated previously, 
considering the limitations of what security credentials you can 
decently secure on a kernel+initrd image set that you are deploying over 
PXE (an insecure protocol), perhaps not so bad.
