Hugh Kingery mentioned, that he thought it seemed like there were less
passerines around on his Denver (Urban) CBC this year.

It seems like state wide totals for passerines on CBCs, are down from last
year.  I won't have all the results for this year's Colorado CBCs, for three
more weeks probably, though it is looking like non-passerine numbers this year
are up from last year (thanks to a lot of geese and ducks), and passerine
numbers this year are down so far (though I think still 4 or 5 CBC still
haven't reported) -- Evergreen-Idaho Springs, Fort Collins, Longmont, Nunn, and
Roaring Fork River Valley).  Some passerine species, the totals are over 100%
to 200% down from last year.  Maybe the missing counts will help some of those
species totals a bit.  One passerine total that is way down from last year, of
course because the species doesn't invade this state every winter, would be
Bohemian Waxwings.  There were 7495 counted last year on Colorado CBCs and this
year, so far only 27.  Quite a few totals for other mountain species and other
species seem to be down from
last year, at least so far.  Pine Siskin, Eurasian Collared-Dove, Mourning
Dove, White-winged Dove totals are up from last year however.
