I went after Duane Nelson's report of a LeConte's Sparrow in Bent
County today (see Duane's 1/31 post). Following Duane's directions
(take the first two track west of Rd 20 south from JJ Rd) I easily
found the location. I walked up and down the reedy area finding Swamp
(8 or 9) and Lincoln's (12) Sparrows.  Per a personal email from
Duane, he has found a greater number of each species. I could not
relocate the LeConte's, though it could well be in there. I would
recommend two or three people walking the area together as sparrows
scatter in all directions and more eyes would help.

Other birds of note in the area:
Glaucous Gull (2nd year bird) below John Martin Dam
Eastern Towhee (female) over wintering at the corner of JJ and 16
roads in the northeast wood lot of that intersection (that lot is
private property)
