This morning I got a rare "insider" view of Weld's "fabled" Windsor Reservoir
courtesy of one of its fine neighbors. We walked the NE shoreline and were
treated to many (and I mean MANY!) birds.

Canada Goose - 5-6(!) digit in numbers
Snow Goose - at least two dozen (some blue)
We struck out on Greater White-fronted Goose though there "HAD" to be one among
the throngs of geese "somewhere".
Mallard - 5-digit in numbers
Northern Pintail - 3-4-digit in numbers
Red-breasted Merganser - 4
Common Goldeneye - few
Common Merganser - few
Bald Eagle - 5 (1ad, 4imm)
Northern Harrier
Red-tailed Hawk
Ring-billed Gull
Eastern Bluejay
American Robin
Black-capped Chickadee
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
House Sparrow
American Tree Sparrow
House Finch
Western Meadowlark
Eurasian-collared Dove

It's a shame wildlife viewers don't have access to Weld's great reservoirs
(Windsor, Latham, and Milton) more often--here's hoping the Colorado Birding
Trail project when it comes to our area can work out some access for the public.

Thanks
