I was at Stearns Lake about 10:30 yesterday morning & the lake was dark with what seemed like a thousand geese with more arriving. The snow & hybrids that Gene Ellis reported were easily visible. But the big thrill was a singing meadowlark (FOS that I've heard giving a full voice song) on the fence north of the lake where the trail veers east. Last week I watched a pair of bald eagles in the big trees near the creek south of the lake. They appeared to be bonded. Wouldn't it be great if they nested nearby! Carol Cushman East Boulder County
