I was at Stearns Lake about 10:30 yesterday morning & the lake was
dark with what seemed like a thousand geese with more arriving. The
snow & hybrids that Gene Ellis reported were easily visible. But the
big thrill was a singing meadowlark (FOS that I've heard giving a
full voice song) on the fence north of the lake where the trail veers
east. Last week I watched a pair of bald eagles in the big trees near
the creek south of the lake. They appeared to be bonded. Wouldn't it
be great if they nested nearby!
