Beautiful day for birding in the Nunn-Windsor-Greeley birding triangle. Most bodies of water were completely or partially open.
Highlights: Mute Swan (pix) - 3 (35th Ave Gravel Pond West--loaded with geese; one Snow, too) Four geese species at Crom Lake (water surface covered by geese-pix) - Ross's - 3; Snow - 11, Canada, Cackling Greater White-fronted Goose - 1 (35th Ave Gravel Pond East) Northern Shrike - 2 (Raptor Alley (WCR 27) within .5 mile of each other) Golden Eagle - 1 (Raptor Alley) Red-breasted Merganser - 9 (Woods Lake; also 3 Snow Geese) Bald Eagle (pix) - 2 (1ad Woods Lake; 1ad Siebring Reservoir nest) Raptors: American Kestrel - 14 Red-tailed Hawk (pix) - 12 (one dark ad.) Ferruginous Hawk (pix) - 2 Rough-legged Hawk - 2 (one dark ad.)
