A winter wren was seen today by myself, Joey Kellner, and Glenn Walbek at Boyd Ponds SWA in Log Lane Village near Ft Morgan. From exit 79 on I 76 take Highway 144 west and then turn on Elm Dr. Go north to the end of the street and continue north even when it looks like you are no longer on a street. The road will turn right into a parking lot. Take the trail east from the parking lot past the large gate to the irrigation ditch. Cross the wooden bridge and turn left until you reach a pipe that crosses the ditch. The wren was seen on the north bank of the ditch around the concrete structure and the seep. It was found originally on the Ft Morgan Christmas Count by Bill Kaempfer although we were aware of that. It was very cooperative.
