The 2 state patrol cars were handling an accident on the road right by the overlook with the concrete barriers. It was a 3 car accident when a woman in a Yukon hit a woman in a Lexus who was then pushed into a woman in a Hyundai. The other cars were either birders or the women's husbands who all showed up eventually. One of the officers had stopped to talk with us earlier to find out what we were looking for. He knew what a Eurasian Wigeon is and when he came back to handle the accident, I showed him the wigeon. He thought it was great.

Hanging out on E/NE corner of lake. Best viewing was from Fossil Creek loop trail--less heat shimmer. Also we see 2 State Patrol cars over on the highway with 7 cars--don't know if they are getting tickets, but exercise caution.
