I took a midday hike up?to the hawk watch today..no other birders but a flow of
hawks into a NE wind. I saw 5 migrant red-tails (also locals putting on a
show), one bald eagle and one ferruginous hawk in about an hour.? I likely
missed many more with some?high against?the blue sky and others flying into the
wind low below the ridges. Also saw 10 -12? migrating bluebirds.

Appears?the watch is not being manned this spring (any one with positive
knowledge might let cobirders know what's up).? I know stationing someone ?up
there costs?$ and volunteers alone can't duplicate the coverage. Too bad if
this spring watch site is falling victim to the economy.??
