There were two monk parakeets nesting in Colorado Springs in the mid 90s, but
because of the large nest they made on a utility pole they were captured and
transferred to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I do not know if they are still
living there.

Subject: [cobirds] Monk Parakeets in Colorado?

Hi,

Today in the Boulder Daily Camera is an article about a man who raises Monk
Parakeets, which supposedly is against the law---
In the article they state that feral flocks of Monk parakeets are found in a
number of states including Colorado?

I have never heard of feral flocks of Monk Parakeets in Colorado. Does anyone
out there know of the existence of such feral flocks in Colorado?
Curious???
