Thursday night (March 12th) at Confluence Park there were still 12 Barrow's
Goldeneye, but not on the river on the lake this time. Also, 6 Ross's and 3
Snow Geese. Will be interesting to see how these birds stick around. We
tried for Western Screech Owl at a couple places after dark without luck.

Yesterday (March 14th) at Fruitgrowers there were at least 75 Sandhill
Cranes (probably more). Some flew in while I was there. At least 4 Marsh
Wrens were singing. About 10 Great Blue Herons were on nest and it was
great to watch some of them bringing in sticks and working on nests. Also
saw 4 Double-crested Cormorants on nests. The previously reported Horned
Grebe was near the dam. Heard one singing Pied-billed Grebe (at least what
I consider a song for the species).
