Spring has sprung in the San Luis Valley. Here are lists of what I saw in a 
fast pass-through this AM. Those listed in CAPS have arrived in the past few 
days.
Monte Vista NWR:

GREEN-WINGED TEAL, No. Pintail, NO. SHOVELER, CINNAMON TEAL,  Redhead, 
BUFFLEHEAD, Ruddy Duck, Am. Coot, Sandhill Crane (still many), Killdeer, Eur. 
Collared-Dove, B-b Magpie, AMERICAN CROW, Common Raven, SONG SPARROW, WESTERN 
MEADOWLARK (2), YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD (1),  Red-winged Blackbird many), House 
Sparrow. 
Home Lake (now ice-free) and area:
PIED-BILLED GREBE (2), Canada Goose, Mallard, GADWALL, AM. WIGEON, NO. PINTAIL, 
NO. SHOVELER, Redhead, BUFFLEHEAD,  Am. Coot, CINNAMON TEAL, COMMON MERGANSER 
(2), Northern Harrier, Bald Eagle (3), Red-tailed Hawk, Sandhill Crane, 
Killdeer, AMERICAN AVOCET (1), GREATER YELLOWLEGS (1), Ring-billed Gull, 
MOURNING DOVE, Eur. Collared Dove, B-b. Magpie, Common Raven, CLIFF SWALLOW
