COBIRDERs:

Late this afternoon (Tuesday, March 24, 2009), Pat Hayward saw about a dozen
Turkey Vultures in flight over the Mountain-Washington Roost in downtown Fort
Collins. I did not see any vultures at this roost at 6:00 am today, and these
are the first seen at the roost this spring that I know of.

I did see a single vulture over my home on the afternoon of Feb. 26, 2009. Todd
Deinenger reported a single vulture near the Adams/Broomfield County Line early
on the morning of Feb. 27, 2009. Few other vultures were reported until this
week. These two February observations likely involved two different birds, one
of which may have been the wintering bird widely reported several times earlier
in the winter.

There seemed to be a larger-than-usual number of American Robins passing
through today. Three male Common Grackles (FOS) showed up at our feeders in the
late afternoon.
