Early this afternoon (1145am-12:30pm), I walked east of Valco Ponds parking lot
in Pueblo.  It was overcast and no snow.  There were swallows everywhere, 200
or so Tree Swallows, 10 Barn Swallows, and 5 Cliff Swallows flying over the
ponds and river.  Also, two Turkey Vultures flew by and four American Avocets
were at Valco Ponds #3.  There was a lone female Common Goldeneye and a Common
Merganser on the ponds as well.  Later, I checked out the Fish Hatchery Ponds
west of Valco Ponds parking lot, still no snow, until I walked back to the
car.  There were three female Hooded Mergansers on the ponds.  The snow finally
began after 1pm, and saw two male Red-breasted Mergansers in the State Wildlife
Area on the north west side of the Reservoir.  I checked other parts of
the reservoir, before the snow, and didn't see anything else of note.  It is
now snowing hard here in Pueblo West now.

Be safe out there, hopefully there are no birders and grouse tour groups stuck
out anywhere right now.  This is going to be a big storm for sure.
