Birders, It's amazing what a snow storm will bring.
While waiting for TurboTax to load I went down to check the feeders, one of which I moved to the front porch where it would be slightly sheltered from the snow. At first I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a Rosy-finch in the tray. I haven't had a Rosy-finch at my feeders in more than 15 years. I was even more surprised when I realized it was a Black Rosy-finch, which I have never had in the county much less at my feeder. I did manage to get some backlit pictures through the sidelight by the front door. I couldn't remember how to compensate for backlighting on the new camera. After he left, I dumped the snow out of the feeder and put out more seed. We'll see if he returns.
