I visited the Lafayette-SE breeding bird atlas block this morning, primarily to
try for a Red-tailed Hawk nesting confirmation. I was fortunate to find a well
concealed adult hunkered down on a nest on the Jefferson County side of
Sheridan.

I also found the rehabilitated albino Red-tail at Legacy Ridge (Admas Co). The
male was with a female, as when I first found the pair February 19. However,
there was no sign of nesting. There's a photo of the albino on my new Flickr
page at www.flickr.com/photos/chundertmark. As I watched the albino, he was
repeatedly attacked by a male American Kestrel.

Other sightings of minor interest, all in the Big Creek Open Space:

3 Cinnamon Teal

Cooper's Hawk (They seem to be moving through the state. 8 seen at Dinosaur
Ridge Friday; one crashed into a dining room window yesterday.)

Say's Phoebe (FOY)

At a small marsh at Legacy Ridge:

8 or more male Red-winged Blackbirds mobbing a cryptically colored male and
driving it repeatedly into the cattails.
