Dear Cobirders,
An afternoon walk at Pella Crossing today (4/5) produced first-of-the-
season Tree Swallows. The Swallows were continuously circling Laguna
Heron, but were surprisingly difficult to find. A pair of Chickadees
were performing a wing-fluttering behavior with an unusual form of
their gargle call; the encounter ended with what looked like a failed
breeding attempt. Continuing on to Lagerman Reservoir produced one
first-of-the-season Baird's Sandpiper, who was vocalizing, and one
first-of-the season Western Grebe. Nothing else unusual.

Cheers,
Walter Szeliga
