Permission was obtained for this post. The annual fundraiser to support education efforts on the Chico Basin Ranch is now called "Chico Days" and will be held Saturday, May 9. The bird-related activities will include a "bird walk" and a bird-banding demonstration. In addition, there will be other natural history events including looking for and identifying spiders. The bird "walk" will include driving to the more popular migrant traps with a stop for Burrowing Owl and Mountain Plover. Beginners and families are welcome.
