Hello all, Per approval from the list manager, I am forwarding this email I received from Mathew Wilkins regarding his request for information on a Barn Owl study he is working on. If any wish to provide Mathew information, please email him directly at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> . Larry Semo Westminster Hi Larry,
Thank you for forwarding my email around to other CO Field Ornithologists last spring. It was really helpful in getting set up for our first field season. I would greatly appreciate it if you wouldn't mind passing along this information request once again. As our research group has recently expanded, we are still in need of quality study sites where we can easily band and observe barn swallows, preferably in the CU Boulder area. In addition, two projects this summer will involve the use of taxidermy mounts (barn swallows and their nest predators), so if you or anyone you know has expertise in mount preparation, please email me. We are also in need of dead birds (unfortunately), so if anyone happens upon a dead barn swallow, magpie, house sparrow, or any bird that normally shares habitat with barn swallows, we are interested in salvaging these birds for our behavioral studies. If anyone has information pertinent to the previously mentioned categories (nesting sites, taxidermy experience, dead birds), please have them email me at [email protected]. You can find further information on our research group's work at http://www.colorado.edu/eeb/facultysites/safran/Home.html <http://www.colorado.edu/eeb/facultysites/safran/Home.html> Thanks!
