Say's Phoebe singing on one of our trees last night, near dusk--
beautfiul to hear on a silent evening.
Burrowing Owls (2) were hunting near dusk in our 35 acres--probably
from WCR 33--there are at least three owls across from our house now.
We hear owls calling each night from both places now.
The two Mallards are seen each morning in our field--our "Funny
Farm" (Chevy Chase movie) ducks.
We heard a Brewer's Sparrow singing from our dog fence this morning.
A Ring-necked Pheasant has been making his presence known for last
week.
I have a 12 inch diameter, four-foot high post out in our field for
raptors to perch--last few days a Red-tailed and Northern Harrier ate
their captured prey (probably ground squirrels-a favorite actor of
NunnCAM) on it.
The Vespers and White-crowneds continue.
Mourning Doves, Common Grackles and Red-winged Blackbirds invade each
day.
The dawn chorus of Western Meadowlarks is impressive in the
peacefulness of the prairie morning.

Thanks
Gary Lefko, Nunn
