Cobirders :
Very quiet at the banding station today , no banders present , just a
single Hermit Thrush , Ruby-crowned Kinglet , and Yellow-rumped Warbler.
At Rose Pond however there was an immature Harris's Sparrow associating
with White-crown's in the very short willows along the east -west earth
bank. Also Northern Mockingbird ( FOS).
At HQ Pond , a Greater White-fronted Goose was the star with most of the
ducks well represented including Redhead , Canvasback and Greater Scaup ,
both teals etc. White-faced Ibis , Eared Grebe . Willet ( 2 ) , Spotted
Sandpiper and American Avocet were the only waders .
HQ had more Ruby-crowned Kinglets ( 2 ) , Hermit Thrush ( 2 ) , and
Yellow-Rumped Warblers.
In the El Paso county part of Chico , we had Burrowing owls , Cassin's
Sparrow ( FOS ) , male doing its display flight ,and Western Kingbird ( FOS ).
At Big Johnson Res , Franklin's and Bonaparte's gulls were around , and
below the dam wall in a recently flooded field a late Snow Goose and Snowy
Egrets .
