Boulder County:

--A GLOSSY IBIS was seen at Lagerman Reservoir on April 23 reported by
Blatchley.

-- A female VERMILION FLYCATCHER reported by Szeliga and Pieplow at Sawhill
Ponds # 5 and 13 on April 18 was seen in the same area on the 19th.

--A MEW GULL was reported by Szeliga at Cottonwood Marsh on March 29 and

Szeliga saw the gull again on April 15.

--An adult Thayer's Gull in alternate plumage was reported by Floyd at

Greenlee Preserve in Lafayette on April 16.

 

Denver County:

--A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes was reported by Mulholland in Denver near

Evans Ave and the Platte River on April 14.  This would be a few blocks west

of Santa Fe Drive and Evans.

 

Douglas/Jefferson County:

--A dark-morph Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Sanders at Chatfield seen
near Kingfisher Bridge on April 20.

--A GLOSSY IBIS seen with a flock of White-faced Ibis at Chatfield State
Park on April 19 reported by Schmoker was still present on April 23. The
ibis were seen about ΒΌ mile upstream from the Plum Creek nature area
(flooded) parking area.

--A male RUSTY BLACKBIRD reported by Spencer on April 18, was seen again
briefly on the marina sandspit at Chatfield Reservoir on the 19th.

--A Black-throated Sparrow  reported by Walbek at Chatfield at the Model

Airplane Field on April 17 was not refound on the 18th.

 

El Paso County:

--A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Brown on the Dakota Hogback on the

west side of Colorado Springs on April 16.

--A Winter Wren was reported by Maynard at Fountain Creek Regional Park on

April 16.  It was at marker 18 which is best reached from the Willow Springs

Parking Area.

 

Fremont County:

--An adult male vermilion Flycatcher was reported by Wild on April 19 seen
near where hwy. 115 crosses the Arkansas River. To look for the bird, take
the first right after crossing the river heading toward Florence; it was
seen across the road from a sewage plant.

--A pair of Black Phoebes was reported by Elwonger at a new pond at

Pathfinder Regional Park west of Florence on April 14.

 

Larimer County:

--A Sage Sparrow was reported by Roederer at Endovalley in Rocky Mountain N.
P. on April 22. It was seen along the road about 100 yds. West of the
closure gate. 

--A Caspian Tern was reported by Biggerstaff at Wellinton Downs Pit pond at

the intersection of Kechter Rd and CR 7 (Strauss Cabin Road) on  April 15.

This is west of I-25 between the Windsor and Harmony Exits.

 

Prowers County:

--An adult LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen at Thurston Reservoir on April 23
reported by Percival.

 

Routt County:

--A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes was reported at Stagecoach Reservoir by

Dodson on April 14.

--3 Pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported at Catamount Reservoir by

Dodson on April 14.

 

Summit County:

--All 3 species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Nims in the Wildernest area

of Silverthorne on April 16.

--3 Black Rosy-Finch were reported by Nims in the village of Heeney (Green

Mountain Reservoir) on April 16.

 

Washington County:

--A male Black-throated Gray Warbler was reported by Jones at Last Chance on
April 19. 

 

Weld County:

--Several flocks of Long-billed Curlews were seen near the intersection of
roads 55 and 120 on the Pawnee Grasslands on April 22 reported by Gill. Six
Mountain Plovers were also seen here by Gill

--A female VERMILION FLYCATCHER and Eastern Phoebe were reported by Kogler

at Crow Valley on April 15.  On April 16, Sanders reported that the

VERMILION FLYCATCHER was in the farm machinery area at Crow Valley.

 

The DFO field trip for Saturday, April 25 is to Bear Creek Lake Park led by
Mike Foster (303-456-2647). Meet at 0700 in the Park. The Park entrance is
on the south side of Morrison Road just east of C-470. Do not stop at the
toll booth. Turn right at the stop sign after the toll booth, cross creek,
and turn right into parking lot. Call Mike to register for day passes. Half
day trip, lunch optional.

 

The DFO field trip for Sunday, April 26 is to Dowdy Draw/Mesa Trail (Boulder
area) led by Christian Nunes (303-931-9131).  Meet at 0800 at the Dowdy Draw
trailhead. To reach the trailhead, go west from hwy. 93 on hwy. 128 toward
El Dorado Springs; the trailhead is on the left. Half day trip with the
Boulder Bird Club.
