Hi all,

I poked around Pueblo this morning, checking here and there, hoping that there
would be something around on this cool and cloudy day.  At Pueblo City Park
along the Frisbee Creek on the west side of the park, there was a large group
of Yellow-rumped Warblers, which contained two male Lazuli Buntings.  I walked
along the Arkansas River west on the north side of the river to the Pueblo
Nature Center, and birded with the AVAS group for a while.  There were more
Yellow-rumped Warblers, a singing Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and singing House
Wrens.  The Arkansas River had lots of swallows today, hundreds if not
thousands of Violet-green Swallows, with smaller numbers of the other species
of swallows.  On the eastern most Goodnight River Trail pond, there was a
breeding plumage Horned Grebe, among other birds.  I walked back to Pueblo City
Park, and walked around the entire park, and didn't find much else.  I then
headed over to Valco Ponds, and birded with
David Chartier for a few minutes.  There was a male Ladder-backed Woodpecker
near the Snakeskin Picnic Area parking lot.  I then briefly checked out Pueblo
Reservoir, the highlight was a Peregrine Falcon flying over the entrance gate
of Pueblo Reservoir State Park, near Pueblo West.

Good birding,
