A short walk around my yard this am reveled the following: 2 pairs of Blue Jays Small flock of starlings Small flock of Red-Winged Black Birds Small flock of White-Crowned Sparrows Small flock of House Sparrows (one male has golden-yellow markings instead of red) Several Tree Sparrows 1 house Wren 1 Nuthatch 6 Northern Flickers 8 Robins 1 Belted Kingfisher
The male Hooded Warbler made a return visit after a few days absence. 1 - Rufus-sided Towhee (he has been hanging around my current bush near my feeder for about two weeks now). I haven't had a chance to walk across the street to Highland Lake today, but the lake has a good population of waterfowl, plus the Great Blue Herons have been back for a few weeks now. We always have about four of them all summer. I'll take a walk around the lake later this afternoon.
