As I was leaving my house early this morning, I saw a bird on the ski rack
of my car that I am having difficulty identifying. Here goes my best
pre-coffee, 7am description. It was the size of a black-capped chickadee
with all light gray (no bars) on its wings and back and a white belly with
buff sides AND (this is where I am thrown off) a tail with a yellow mark on
the back. The tail section looked A LOT like that of a waxwing. The tail
was white with darker strips with the yellow tip. It had a thin, pointy beak
like a chickadee and a bit of a tuft on its head like a flycatcher (though
it was rainy so it could have been puffed up). The behavior this bird was
exhibiting is what really caught my attention. It was bobbing up and down,
like a dipper. If I didn't know better, I would think it was a chickadee,
waxwing, dipper, flycatcher hybrid!!

AND of course, I could not find my camera until after the bird flew!! I hate
that when you must decide between watching the bird and finding the
camera!! If I see it again, the camera is nearby and I'll get a pic up.
