Baca County: --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Kaempfer at Two Buttes on April 25 and by Percival on April 27. --A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Percival at Two Buttes below the dam on April 27. Bent County: --A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Percival at Hasty Campground on April 27 and seen again on May 1 by Percival. Percival also reported a female Summer Tanager at Hasty Campground on May 1. Boulder County: --A Northern Parula was reported by Zilly at Pella Crossing near Hygiene on April 25 and seen again by Zilly on April 28. Zilly also reported a fly over Broad-winged Hawk on April 28. --A Green Heron was reported at Walden Ponds in Boulder by Zmolek on April 28. On May 1, a Green Heron were seen on the west end of Ricky Weiser Wetland by Tumasonis. --A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Deininger near the Twin Peaks Mall in Longmont on April 28. --A GLOSSY IBIS was reported by Floyd at Prince Lake #2 on May 1. --A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Floyd at Greenlee Preserve in Lafayette on May 1. Broomfield County: --Larry Semo reported that Doug Faulkner spotted a Nashville Warbler at Interlocken Business Park on April 30. Nissen #2 is on Aspen, .5 mile south of 136th Ave. Custer County: --A female KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported by Rich Miller in the Willow Thicket below the dam at DeWeese Reservoir on April 28 and seen again on April 29 by Percival. Denver County: --An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Thornton-Kolbe on the east side of the Platte about 150 - 250 yards from Evans going towards Florida Ave on April 28. Douglas/Jefferson Counties: --4 Broad-winged Hawks were reported by Kellner at Chatfield on April 28. One light morph was by the Plum Creek Delta picnic area parking lot and 3 (2 light, 1 dark) were by the newer heron overlook. Fremont County: --A male Summer Tanager was reported by Rich Miller at the eastern end of the Riverwalk in Canon City on April 28. El Paso/Pueblo Counties: --A male Indigo Bunting was banded by Gobris at Chico Basin Ranch (fee) on April 29 on the El Paso side. --A male Hooded Warbler was banded by Gobris at Chico Basin Ranch on May 1. --A male KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported by Maynard at headquarters pond of Chico Basin Ranch on May 1. Jefferson County: --A Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Chavez on Morrison Road just east of C-470 on April 28. Kiowa County: --A Field Sparrow was reported by Percival at the Neenoshe Locust Grove on April 30 and 2 were seen on May 1 by Percival. Larimer County: --Broad-winged Hawks were reported by Griffin and Sparks in Fort Collins. Sparks had one at Lee Martinez Park on April 25 and Griffin had 2 fly over his house which is .5 mile SE of Harmony and College on April 27. On April 28 Sparks reported 2 Broad-winged Hawks at Lee Martinez Park in Fort Collins. --A pair of Caspian Terns was reported by Defonso at Wellington Gravel Pits on Kechter Road in SE Fort Collins on May 1. Prowers County: --A White-throated Sparrow was reported by Percival at Lamar High School grove on April 27. --A PINE WARBLER and Black-and-white Warbler were reported by Percival at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar on April 30 and again on May 1. --At Lamar Community College Woods (LCCW): ----Percival reported a BLUE-HEADED Vireo on April 30 and two on May 1. ----Percival reported a pair of Northern Cardinals on May 1. ----The Kellner caravan reported a Nashville Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, and Swamp Sparrow on May 1. Pueblo County: --A molting male Summer Tanager was reported by Percival in Rock Canyon below Pueblo Reservoir Dam on April 28. It was SE of the large fish pond. Washington County: --On May 1, Larson found a male Hooded Warbler in the NE corner of Last Chance and a White-throated Sparrow in the SW corner of Last Chance. --On May 1, Boswell reported a Rose-breasted Grosbeak in the SW corner of Last Chance and a Blackpoll Warbler in the NW corner. Weld County: --Smith reported a pair of Broad-winged Hawks flying over her place NE of Mead on April 28. --A GLOSSY IBIS and Dunlin were reported by Hooper near the intersection of CR 45 & 46 on May 1. The DFO field trip for Saturday, May 2, will be to Parker Regional Park led by Steve Kenneday (303-690-8265). Meet the leader at 0730 at Parker Regional Park. From the Main Street intersection in Parker, take Hwy 83 south for 1.2 miles. Turn right on Indian Pipe Lane to the parking lot on the right. The Park is on the west side of the road. Half day trip. Wear walking shoes and bring water and sunscreen. The DFO field trip for Sunday, May 3 will be Birding by Ear at Roxborough State Park led by Alison Kondler (303-904-9140). Meet the leader at 0830 at the Roxborough SP Visitor Center. An indoor presentation will be followed by an easy walk to listen to the birds. Bring water and snacks. Space is limited. Call the visitor center (303-973-3959) for reservations. Take S. Wadsworth past Chatfield SP to Waterton Rd on left. Take Waterton Rd 1.6 miles east to North Rampart Range Rd, turn right and go south 2.3 miles to Roxborough Park Rd. Turn left and follow signs to park (2.2 miles) State Parks pass required.
