This morning around 10:00 at the new wetland area near Peoria: 2 Whimbrel, 4 Long-billed Dowitcher, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, 1 Solitary Sandpiper, kildeer, semipalmated sandpiper, and avocet. Also nearby: 8-10 yellow-headed blackbird and a house wren, with Tree, Barn and N. Rough-winged Swallow overhead. As I was leaving a flock of 20+ Wilson's Phalarope landed - an inspiring end to a short morning of birding. Such great variety in such a newly-established little spot!
