Hello, Birders.

About 15 of us with the Boulder Bird Club visited Walden Ponds and adjacent
Sawhill Ponds earlier this evening, Thursday, May 14th.

Our highlight was a ghostly Barn Owl in loping flight right in front of us at
dusk. It was a brief look, but it was great.

Other stuff out there: 3 Wood Ducks, 1 Ring-necked Duck still hanging on, 1
Pied-billed Grebe singing in the dark, 1 Great Egret, 1 Green Heron, 1
Black-crowned Night-Heron calling in the dark, 1 Osprey with a fish, 1 Lesser
Yellowlegs, and 1 Great Horned Owl.

An interesting sight was a drake Cinnamon teal paired with a hen that was
either mainly or entirely a Blue-winged Teal.

We donated a lot of blood to the mosquitoes, and they donated West Nile Virus
to us.
