Hi COBirders,

A cool overcast, misty morning, with a slight breeze. Perfect! We
opened nets about 6:45, and started gathering in the birds about
7:00. Less activity out in the Russian Olives, and more birds moving
low through the cottonwoods and elms all day. There was a good
arrival last night, but many of yesterday's birds were still around,
and recaptured today. Many more thrush than yesterday, and continued
good numbers of Lincoln's Sparrows and Yellow Warblers.

The story today was warblers on the ranch - last I heard they were up
to 17 species today. Around the banding station we had Tennessee (m),
Chestnut-sided (m, banded), Am Redstart (m), Magnolia (m), Ovenbird (4
banded), No Parula (f), Yellow, Orange-crowned, Wilson's, and
MacGillivray's Warblers (m), Com Yellowthroat, (m,f), Yellow-breasted
Chat. There were reports of additional Black and White, Virginia's,
Blackpoll, No Waterthrush, (and some others I forgot) at the HQ area,
Summer Tanager, and Bobolink, among others.

Total new birds banded today - 96.
