Yesterday (5/16), I did a Big Day in Northern Colorado with 4 other companions
(Nick Komar, Sue Riffe, Eric DeFonso, and Jessica Brauch). We ended up seeing
191 species in the 24 period. The highlights were: 2 Red Phalaropes at Walden
Reservoir (Jackson County), Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Veery at Crow Valley
Campgroud (Weld County), Broad-winged Hawk in the Poudre Canyon (Larimer
County), 3 White-rumped Sandpipers at Red Lion SWA (Logan County), and a Common
Loon at Jumbo Reservoir (Logan County). We also heard a Boreal Owl calling
spontaneously on Cameron Pass (Jackson County) about 25 minutes after our big
day ended. If anyone would like more details about the big day please let me
know personally.
