Hi, Birders-- Late this morning, we found a male Sora, two Snowy Egrets, one Brewer's Blackbird, and two Gadwall in or around the pond off the NW corner of Alameda Blvd. and Havana St., in Denver. (This is the SE corner of old Lowry AFB's open space area.) These birds won't make the Rare Bird Alert, but the Sora easily made our WOW List for this busy urban street corner. As unlikely as it might seem to find these birds here, though, this often birdless area holds surprises throughout the year, especially during migration.
