There is currently a Piping Plover hidden amongst the rocks at the very tip of the sandspit to the east of the south marina at Chatfield State Park. The bird was first found by Paul Differding. It is ironic that it is there with all of the boats and jet skis in the immediate area. This is an endangered and sensitive species so please keep a respectful distance from the bird and view with a scope. There are also 5 White-rumped Sandpipers and 7 Willets.
