This evening around 5pm, I headed over to Welchester after reading Peter Plage's post. The small park off 8th and Simms was very birdy. I only made it through half the park because there was so much activity and I only had an hour to spend (usually can walk the whole park in less than a half hour). I re-located the Chestnut-sided Warbler in the same location as the earlier post. With the inch worm hatch there were many Tanagers, Orioles, and a beautiful male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I would not be suprised if the past year's reports of Yellow-billed Cuckoos and other good birds happen there this week.
Early this morning, I went to Crow Valley and had White-eyed Vireo, American Redstart (female), Ovenbird, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Orchard Oriole and Indigo Bunting. I then ran over to Chatfield (3p) and was able to see the Piping Plover, White-rumped Sandpiper, and Willet. Overall, not a bad day!!
