Hello Co-birders: When I returned from the CFO Conference in Alamosa, May 31,
I was thrilled to see a Black-headed Grosbeak (male) working on my empty suet
feeder. I put a small amount of "berry treat" in it and it came in again
shortly thereafter with another male perched in a tree nearby. Also waiting
to use the suet feeder while the Grosbeaks fed from it (one at a time), were a
Black-capped Chickadee and a Downy Woodpecker.
