I meant to send this yesterday evening, but my Internet was out all  
evening. Anyway...
 
A friend and I birded Fountain Creek Nature Center and Fountain Creek  
Regional Park on Memorial Day Monday (7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.). It was a great  
morning. In my opinion, our best bird was the Great Egret, and a first for  
me; although, the adorable goslings came in a close second - they weren't  
more than a day old, all fuzzy yellow and bobbing very closely around their  
mother.

Heard, but not seen
Black-capped Chickadee
Meadowlark
 
Also seen: Rabbits (adult and baby); Squirrel (including black one,  but 
not an Abert's); Muskrat; Bullfrog; Painted Turtle; Snapping Turtle  (huge!)
 
All in all, a glorious way to spend a Monday morning!
