Bob Rozinski says that Cherry Creek State Park is ticketing people who park their cars along Cottonwood Creek south of the model airplane field.
I asked the park manager, "Lots of birdwatchers are enjoying the new wetlands and we'd like to know where they should park. Could you provide a more definite explanation of the parking restrictions, please?" Here is his response. I hope it makes sense to Cottonwood Creek habitués. Hugh Kingery "The State Park is providing a new parking area for the Cottonwood Creek trail. It will be located just east of where you are currently parking. The project has started and it will be completed in 90 days. Where you are currently parking is not a designated parking area. It is an access point for emergency vehicles responding to a call off of Belleview and Peoria. It is also an access point to the boat storage area for one of our concessions. "Since that area will be under construction soon we would rather you park at the pull off area near the Cottonwood Pond or the Cherry Creek trailhead just off the perimeter road and west of the Cherry Creek crossing. Tim Metzger, Park Manager Cherry Creek State Park" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Colorado County Birding: http://www.coloradocountybirding.com/ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
