Sorry for 2 mails; forgot to ask if all of you will keep me posted on this
(elusive for me) bird's behaviors. Besides chasing the locals (WE tgrs), has
anyone ever seen it in the company of a female of either tanager species in
the past years? Or any other sign of attempted or successful breeding?

Greg. Canyon is (so far) an area I'm keeping an eye on for the Eco-steward
Program sponsored by Boulder County Nature Association and the Boulder
County Audubon Society. If anyone is interested in assuming this
responsibility in perpetuity (really: you cannot die), let us know. It's a
great area. But I have one closer to me that I'd like to make my main focus.

Thanks for any help.

Linda G
