Arapahoe County:
--A possible Least Tern was reported by Latona on the east shore of Cooley
Lake in South Platte Park on June 12.  To get to South Platte Park, take S.
Santa Fe Drive and turn west on Mineral Ave. Go one block and turn right
onto S. Platte River Parkway. There is parking by the Carson Nature Center.

Boulder County:
--Dunning reported that the male SCARLET TANAGER has returned to Gregory
Canyon on May 28.  It was seen on the Gregory Canyon Trail in Boulder about
100 yards further uphill from pole #50.  On June 13, Arnold reported
that the SCARLET TANAGER was still in the area.
--A singing KENTUCKY WARBLER was reported by Andes-Georges in the Gregory
Canyon parking lot on June 5.  Pieplow confirmed by sight and sound the
identification on June 6.  Szeliga heard the KENTUCKY WARBLER singing for
about a minute at 0615 on June 15, then it went quiet.
--A singing Ovenbird was reported by Nunes near the intersection of the
North Shanahan Trail and the Mesa Trail in Boulder first on May 26.  Kwong
reported hearing the Ovenbird again on June 14.
--A singing male Rose-breasted Grosbeak was reported by Kwong on the Big
Bluestem Trail in Boulder on June 14.
--A singing male Indigo Bunting was reported by Delany on Eldorado Mountain 
Open
Space on June 15.

Delta County:
--A COMMON BLACK-HAWK was spotted by Beason circling above Hotchkiss the
morning of June 12.

Denver County:
--A Green Heron was reported by Mulholland at Overland Lake Park on a small
pond and it flew over to the golf course to a larger pond on June 12.
Overland Lake Park is at S Santa Fe Dr and Florida.

Fremont County:
--Teuton reported that the RED-THROATED LOON found by Rich Miller on May
19 at Brush Hollow Reservoir continues at least through June 11.

Lake County:
--A breeding plumaged Common Loon was reported by Kalbach at Turquoise Lake
on June 14.  It was seen from the dam.

Larimer County:
--A singing male Black-throated Blue Warbler was reported by Donnelly from
Texas in Rocky Mountain NP near the beginning of the trail to Cub Lake on
June 17.

Mesa County:
--A breeding plumaged Common Loon was reported by Beason at Cheney Reservoir
on June 17.
--Beason reported many Purple Martins and a singing Fox Sparrow on the
Uncompahgre Plateau on June 17.
--A Purple Martin was reported by Garrison on Grand Mesa on a Beaver Pond
on June 17.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, June 20 will be to the Fort Morgan Wildlife
Areas led by Peter Walker (970-867-6729) and Joe Rigli.  Meet the leaders at
0800 at the City Park in Fort Morgan, at the parking lot off of Hwy 52, on
the east side of the west part of the park.  This is a space-limited trip;
please register with Meredith at (303-280-9576).  Bring lunch, water, and
sunscreen.  Habitat Stamp please.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, June 21 will be to Palmer Lake Trails led by
John Drummond ([email protected] 719-488-3700).  Meet the leader at 0715 at
the Palmer Lake parking lot by the railroad track off of SR 105.  Fairly
strenuous uphill hike of about 2 miles.  Bring a pack with
lunch, water and snacks; wear layers for changing altitude, and sturdy
hikers.  Trip is space-limited, you must register with Leader in advance,
e-mail preferred.
