Today (7/14) Jessi Oberbeck and I went to Castlewood Canyon State Park (Douglas
County) and saw the Black Vulture. It was visible from 9:43 to 9:58 this
morning from the Homestead parking area before heading out of view towards the
northeast. A few other birds of interest was a juvenile Northern Goshawk at
6:15 sitting in the top of a tree at the top of the canyon seen from the Falls
parking area and a type 4 Red Crossbill heard at 7:40 just a few hundred yards
north of the Falls parking area.
