I birded Pathfinder Park near Florence this morning to see if the two
juvenile Black Phoebes were still there. I found one of the juvenile Black
Phoebes foraging at the wetland and calling frequently. Then a juvenile
Eastern Phoebe flew in. They foraged near each other, seemingly in a
compatible manner most of the time. The Eastern Phoebe flew out near me and
I got some good pics of it in addition to a photo of both perched near each
other that is great for comparison of these two species.

I also had 3 Eastern Phoebes (at least one is a juvenile) at my friend's
property today in addition to continuing juvenile Black and Say's Phoebes.
I didn't see the adult Black Phoebe with the mohawk today, but did see it
yesterday so suspect it is still around there.

I also spotted a Black Phoebe just east of the MacKenzie Bridge over the
Arkansas River today. It was calling as it foraged about 150-200 feet east
of the bridge.

I saw a female Common Merganser on the Arkansas River today. This is likely
the same merganser I saw just over a week ago but didn't get a good view of
it then.

I have posted photos of many of these birds on my blog at
