Well, I'm not at all experienced enough to know if this is a big deal or not,
but I thought I'd let you all know my yard is full of hummingbirds which
arrived in this order: Broad-tailed, Black-chinned, Rufus and Calliope.  It is
a hoot to watch the tiny, tiny male Calliopes hold their own to the nearly
twice as large Rufus thugs which try so hard to run them off.

Still, in the early mornings and evenings I watch several many of each species
feeding at each feeder.  Two are immediately outside a picture window and
others here and there around the yard.  I imagine there are some good photo
ops, if anybody is interested.

And...I would love to learn how to tell if I have a Ruby-throated Hummingbird
in the yard; I had no idea they were so often spotted in Colorado!

Also, I've observed the White-winged dove again.  I will spread some corn in
the area where it feeds.  Folks have seen the bird from time to time in my yard
from the street, as well as in my neighbor's yard and the big trees around this
area.

I'm sorry someone came all the way to see the blasted dove on the day I was
mowing my yard...and not a dove or pigeon was in site.  Perhaps you can call
and I'll make sure not to be mowing and will put out corn again...if you're
interested.
