A lovely man has pointed out that, while the list I've been discussing as the
most current Huerfano County Bird List... upon which is printed:  COLORADO
FIELD ORNITHOLOGISTS Checklist of the Birds of Colorado Huerfano County......it
is actually the list for the WHOLE state!

Talk about a faux pas!    While I'm very sorry at all this confusion...I'm glad
I can quit refering to the mistaken checklist...and will look to the new one of
'08?

Hey, at least I can quit looking for the other eight hummingbirds I was
convinced had been seen here one time or another and wracking my brains trying
to entice them back!  LOL

Having said this...I am still certain I saw Gambel's Quail; though I imagine
they were likely excapees (there was a hunting lodge a couple miles up from
me...at the very edge of the BLM land.  I could happen ).

My concern was that...while nobody knows exactly what someone sees, to flatly
tell them they're wrong and laugh about it, is just cruel and will do nothing
to engage new birders in our exciting sport (pass-time?)

Thanks William,
Beverly Jensen
