Hello, Birders. There are still a few spots left for the early-"morning" field trip on Wed., Aug. 12th, to watch the Perseids and listen to nocturnal migrants from eastern Boulder County. Details at: http://www.aba.org/events/ This field trip is a joint outing of the American Birding Association and the Partnership for International Birding. The trip is free and open to the public, but e-RSVP is required. Earlier today, Monday, Aug. 3, I had a nice sneak preview, I hope, of what we can expect on the 12th. My dad and I were out between 4:05 and 4:30 at Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County. We saw several good meteors (the Perseids have begun, actually, even though the peak is close to 2 weeks off), and we heard 16 Chipping Sparrows and 3 Yellow Warblers. -------------------------------
