A special, belated (due to turmoil at work) thanks to Tony L., Dave E., Christian N., and Nick K. for sharing your observations and opinions about the two vireos. The discussion was exactly what I was hoping for. I was leaning towards ID'ing the recent (September) vireo as Cassin's and had originally labeled the May vireo photos as Plumbeous, but began to doubt both IDs as I was studying guides and comparing other photos. The subtleties became confusing since I don't have much experience with Cassin's and Blue-headed Vireo. The Plumbeous Vireos I'm used to seeing seem much more straightforward. Also confusing is the way tones come across in photos, having been interpreted both by the image sensor and computer monitor. Thanks again for the helpful discussion. Sincerely,
